Bored in a Meeting? Don’t do this.

A friend forwarded this.  Happened just last week:

“One of our employees was bored in a meeting and decided to connect a short cable to two network ports on one of our conference tables. This overloaded a network switch and shut down our network completely from 11:00 am until late in the evening. While not malicious, it was hard to track down, and effectively shut us down for the day.”

They’re an international company with several thousand employees - could happen to anyone.
